Depression, Bipolar & Mood

I'm a strong believer that depression and bipolar exist on a "mood spectrum" and the DSM5 is garbage when it comes to trying to understand etiology, symptoms or a true label.  The truth is that there is so much we don't know yet about these topics. And some people continue to struggle despite trying dozens of medications. What we do know is that these are not personal failures. And you're not alone.

Anxiety & OCD

Social anxiety, generalized anxiety, phobias, agoraphobia, trichotillomania, excoriation disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, hoarding.. these are beasts to live with. And it's not as simple as "just don't think about it," or "think positive."

Autism & ADHD

We do assess for ADHD in our regular evaluations for all ages and we offer comprehensive self-pay neurodivergence evaluations for those who are seeking clarification on an autism diagnosis. We recognize that AUDHD also comes with sensory processing concerns, frequently with connective tissue disorders, MCAS, POTS.. at Paperflower, we are openly neurodivergent owned (and tbh, staffed) and support a neuroaffirmative approach.

LGBTQIA+ & BIPOC Mental Health

We understand that within BIPOC & LGBTQIA communities, there are differing health concerns that stem back to historical cruelty, mistrust in the system and continued health disparities into the current year.  We know the statistics say that when you have a provider of color as a person of color, your outcome is better. For all of us, continuing to educate ourselves, especially at this oppressive point in history, is critical.

Fertility, Pregnancy & Postpartum

Mental health concerns are ever present if you are planning a pregnancy, going through fertility treatments, grieving a miscarriage or stillbirth, are pregnant or freshly postpartum (or maybe a year or two postpartum because wtf, body).

Trauma & Stress

The one thing I can truly say about our practice is that we genuinely try to be trauma informed. We all operate under the principle that everyone has probably experienced trauma, and therefore we need to always make sure we are not inadvertently re-traumatizing anyone.  But we are here to hear your story and work alongside in your journey to heal.

Other Mental Health Concerns & Tips

Anyone who is out there boasting that lifestyle changes are the key to mental health changes can go away, tbh.

But mental wellness definitely has components of a ton of things -- and self care, whatever that looks like, is apart of that.  Here's some resources.
